Huli Huli Pork loin Medallion

In Hawaii, Huli Huli is a wildly popular Teriyaki-like marinade with pineapple notes. Huli Huli pork medallions for an easy homemade dinner that combines the incredible flavours of Hawaiian-style barbecue pork accented with Philmore Harrison Bourbon Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place pork in a large, heavy zip-lock plastic bag set in a shallow dish; set aside.

  2. For marinade, in a small bowl combine,ginger soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce,liquid Maggi seasoning,and Phillimore’s BBQ Sauce. Remove 1 cup of the mixture to a small bowl; cover and chill until needed. Pour remaining mixture over pork; seal bag. Marinate in refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.

  3. Drain pork.

  4. FOR CHARCOAL GRILL, arrange coals around a drip pan. Test for medium-high heat above the pan. Place pork on grill rack over pan. Cover and grill 20 minutes. Brush with 1/4 cup of the reserved marinade. Cover and grill 15-20 minutes more or until an instant-read thermometer registeres 155°F when inserted into thickest part of the meat. FOR GAS GRILL, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium-high. Adjust for indirect cooking, and grill as directed above.

  5. Meanwhile, placed reserved ¾ cup of marinade in a small saucepan, and heat through, then pour alongside pork and serve with Hawaiian salsa.

INGREDIENTS

Huli Huli Marinade:

  • 1 cup crushed pineapple (canned)
  • 20 grams ginger soya sauce
  • 20 grams sweet chilli sauce
  • 10 grams liquid Maggi seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Philmore Harrison Bourbon BBQ Sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced

Huli Huli Pork Loin Medallion:

  • 2 Tbsp vegetables oil
  • 4 slice Pork loin Medallion

Green onions, sliced (optional)

 

Hawaiian Salsa

  • 1 cup mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into pieces
  • ½ cup sweet red pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 plum tomato, seeded and diced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, minced
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced (optional)
