Fried Squid with Jerk BBQ Sauce

Philmore Harrison's JERK BBQ Sauce adds a fiery kick to Fried Squid creating a tantalizing unforgettable taste 🔥

Instructions:

  1. Place the cleaned squid rings in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let them soak for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  4. Remove squid rings from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat them in the flour mixture.
  5. Carefully place the coated squid rings in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Remove the fried squid and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the fried squid hot with a side of Philmore’s Jerk BBQ Sauce for dipping.

For the fried squid:

  • 500g fresh squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste
